CIVV, like many other clubs, owns a “club car”. In this case,
the CIVV club car is a 1950 Ford that’s been restored as a Hamilton
County, IN Sheriff’s car. Through the generosity (and hard work)
of club members, area businesses, and the Hamilton County Sheriff, this
1950 Ford underwent an “on-frame” restoration and entered
“service” in 1997. In addition to it’s original flathead V8
and 3-speed transmission, it sports a working roof-mounted red-light and
siren – and a bullet-hole in the rear passenger-side door! It can
be found on display at area car shows, leading parades and tours,
promoting club events, and even serving as a unique mode of transporting a
wedding couple to their reception, or a “birthday celebrant” to
his/her party, etc. |
